Siddharth Gupta on Portraying Lord Krishna

In an exclusive interview, actor Siddharth Gupta shared insights into his preparation for the role of Lord Krishna in the upcoming film Krishnavataram Part 1. He emphasized that he deliberately avoided watching previous iconic portrayals, including those by Nitish Bharadwaj and Sourabh Raaj Jain, to bring a fresh perspective to the character.

Unique Approach to the Divine Role

Gupta stated, “I never watched Nitish Bharadwaj or Sourabh Raaj Jain’s performances as Krishna. I wanted to create my own interpretation based on scriptures and my understanding of the deity.” He added that he relied on the Bhagavad Gita and other texts to shape his portrayal, focusing on Krishna’s wisdom, charm, and divine playfulness.

Challenges and Preparation

The actor underwent extensive training, including yoga and voice modulation, to embody the role. He noted, “Playing Krishna is not just about dialogue delivery; it’s about exuding a sense of calm and authority. It required immense mental discipline.” Gupta also learned to play the flute and practiced dance sequences to capture Krishna’s grace.
