Stebin Ben & Nupur Sanon's Intimate, Cultural Wedding

Stebin Ben and Nupur Sanon's Wedding: A Soulful Fusion of Cultures and Personal Poetry

In an era where celebrity weddings often prioritize grandeur, Stebin Ben and Nupur Sanon chose a path of intimacy and deep reflection. Their wedding was less about spectacle and more about sentiment, weaving personal stories and cultural traditions into every ritual. The celebrations beautifully blended Stebin's Malayalam Christian upbringing with Nupur's Hindu heritage, creating an authentic and soulful experience that resonated with love and intention.

Exclusive Insights into Intimate Ceremonies and Heartfelt Rituals

In an exclusive conversation with Wedding Times, the couple opened up about their thoughtfully curated wedding looks and meaningful ceremonies. Nupur emphasized that her bridal attire was designed for quiet emotion rather than opulence. "For the pheras, I wanted everything to feel timeless and intimate. Manish Malhotra understood that instinctively. The lehenga felt like a quiet celebration of tradition and love—nothing loud, just deeply personal," she shared. Stebin echoed this sentiment, highlighting the sensitivity in their outfit designs. "Even though I come from a Malayalam Christian background, the Hindu and Christian wedding felt incredibly grounding and respectful of both our worlds. Manish Malhotra designed our outfits with so much sensitivity—it wasn’t just about how we looked, but about what the moment stood for. It felt like love stitched into fabric," he said.

The Pheras: A Magical Moment Frozen in Time with Embroidered Poetry

The pheras held a surreal and magical quality for Nupur, filled with overwhelming gratitude. What made this ritual even more poignant were the words embroidered on her veil: 'Tu mere kal da sukoon te ajj da shukr' and 'നീ കൂടെയുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ യാത്ര തന്നെ കവിത'. "In that moment, everything felt still," she recalled. For Stebin, these details struck a deeply emotional chord. "Seeing the Punjabi and Malayalam verses embroidered on Nupur’s veil felt deeply symbolic and so beautifully done by Manish sir—a beautiful expression of love and respect in every detail," he expressed. Quoting the Malayalam line, he added, 'നീ കൂടെയുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ യാത്ര തന്നെ കവിത'—with her beside me, this journey already feels like poetry.

Jewellery and Accessories: Emphasizing Meaning Over Excess

Nupur approached her jewellery with intentionality, opting for elegance and meaning over extravagance. "I kept my jewellery elegant and meaningful. I didn’t want anything overpowering, just pieces that felt like they belonged to the moment. For me, it was about comfort, grace, and emotion over excess. Everything I wore felt like an extension of how peaceful I felt inside," she explained. Stebin's choices reflected his philosophy of simplicity. "I’m someone who believes in simplicity. My watch and accessories were chosen because they felt timeless, things I’d look back at years later and still connect with," he said.

Love in the Details: Seamlessly Blending Two Cultural Worlds

One of the most striking aspects of the wedding was its seamless integration of both their cultural backgrounds. "Our wedding was about love and respect in every detail. There was so much space for who we are individually. It felt beautiful to honour her faith while quietly carrying my roots within me," Stebin shared. Nupur agreed, adding, "That’s what made it special, nothing felt forced. Every detail, every choice came from understanding, and that’s what love looks like to me."

Beyond the Big Day: Celebrations Reflecting Diverse Moods and Emotions

Each wedding function showcased a different mood and emotion. For the cocktail night, Nupur chose a bold and celebratory Gaurav Gupta outfit, while her mehndi featured a playful, earthy, and intimate Irth lehenga. "For the cocktail night, Gaurav Gupta felt like a bold and celebratory choice. For the mehndi, my Irth lehenga felt playful, earthy, and intimate, exactly right for that vibe," she said. Stebin enjoyed experimenting with his looks as well, wearing Shantanu & Nikhil for a sharp, modern cocktail night and Abhinav Mishra for a fun, festive mehndi. "I loved wearing Shantanu & Nikhil for the cocktail night, it felt sharp and modern, while Abhinav Mishra for the mehndi was fun and festive. Each look reflected a different emotion of the journey," he shared.

This wedding stands as a testament to how personal authenticity and cultural harmony can create a truly memorable celebration, resonating with heartfelt emotion and intentional design.
