Suniel Shetty Speaks Out on Bollywood's Gruelling Work Culture
Veteran actor Suniel Shetty has joined the heated debate over long working hours in Bollywood. In a recent interview, he made his stance clear. He does not believe in overworking oneself. The actor stressed the critical importance of taking regular breaks.
'12 to 18 Hours Is Not Realistic for Me'
Suniel Shetty shared his personal philosophy on work. He stated that 12 to 18 hour workdays are neither realistic nor productive for him. The actor emphasized a strong need for work-life balance. He highlighted the value of rest and proper breaks during the day.
'I have made sure that I work only during my work hours,' Shetty explained. 'If it’s 9 to 6, I would expect it to be 9 to 6.' He showed flexibility for exceptional circumstances. 'If my producer is in trouble, I’ll do 9 to 9, but that understanding is important.' The actor firmly believes that without this mutual respect, one cannot get the best output from him.
Fitness and Breaks Are Non-Negotiable
The actor linked his productivity directly to his fitness routine and scheduled breaks. As a former action hero, he knows his limits well. 'If I don’t get my break or my lunch, I become the most irritable person,' he admitted candidly.
Shetty described breaks as essential for recharging his energy. 'So, if you want the best output, you give me my breaks.' He expressed a firm belief against constant overextension. The actor argued that pushing limits endlessly does not lead to achievement.
Fitness remains a cornerstone of his life at 65. 'I am who I am at 65 only because of that fitness,' he stated. 'If you take away the gym from me, you take away my life.' He emphasized that both he and those expecting work from him must realize what is important.
