Suvinder Pal Vicky Reflects on Dhurandhar 2 Success and Brigadier Jahangir's Impact
Suvinder Pal Vicky is receiving widespread acclaim for his powerful portrayal of Brigadier Jahangir in the blockbuster film Dhurandhar 2. From the viral "Aa gaya Pandu" dialogue to the shocking tongue-pulling sequence, the actor's performance has deeply resonated with audiences across the nation.
The Layered Personality of Brigadier Jahangir
In a recent interview, Suvinder opened up about the complex character he brought to life. He explained that Brigadier Jahangir's sharp, acidic language stems from profound frustration rooted in his past experiences.
"That frustration is a key part of Brigadier Jahangir," Suvinder told Faridoon Shahryar. "He's someone who has witnessed power, particularly around the 1971 war era, and now finds himself unable to exercise that control. His son isn't following his path either. This helplessness and frustration truly define him."
The actor elaborated on the character's harsh traits, noting that audiences might even feel hatred toward him. "He is foul-mouthed, patriarchal, and aggressive. That 'acidity' in his language is precisely the right word to describe him," Suvinder added, highlighting the deliberate character choices that made the role so impactful.
Viral Moments and Organic Performances
One of the most talked-about elements of the film has been the "Aa gaya Pandu" dialogue, which has spawned countless memes and social media shares. Suvinder expressed his delight at this reception, stating, "It feels incredible when people discuss your work, create memes, and your dialogues become popular—it's like nourishment for an actor."
He revealed that this moment emerged organically during filming. "That tone, that laugh—it all flowed naturally from within. It was about building that internal frustration and then releasing it in that precise moment," Suvinder explained, emphasizing the importance of authentic performance.
The Intense Tongue Scene with Arjun Rampal
Another major highlight has been the disturbing tongue-pulling sequence featuring Arjun Rampal. Suvinder shared that the scene was approached with minimal rehearsal to preserve its raw realism.
"We didn't over-rehearse. I told Arjun, 'Do whatever you need to for the scene.' He even checked if I was comfortable, and I assured him I was. The more genuine it feels, the better the outcome," Suvinder recounted.
He noted that the physical pain involved actually enhanced the performance. "When someone pulls your tongue, the pain is real, which naturally aids the acting. We aimed for an organic feel rather than something staged," he said, describing the emotional shift within the scene where helplessness leads to a softened approach.
Recognition and Future Aspirations
The overwhelming response to his performance has brought Suvinder significant recognition. "Thank you so much for the praise and encouragement. I always strive to give my 100 percent. The rest depends on the audience—their love means everything," he expressed gratefully.
Suvinder disclosed that his portions were filmed under a tight schedule. "It was an indoor shoot completed over one night and a day. There were costume and physical changes between scenes, especially for the tub sequence, which required extensive preparation," he shared.
The actor acknowledged that Dhurandhar 2 has transformed his public perception. "Previously, people would ask if I was an actor. Now they instantly recognize me as 'Brigadier saab.' That's a significant shift," he said, adding that new offers have begun to arrive.
Praise for Co-Stars and Craft
Suvinder praised his co-star Arjun Rampal, calling him "brilliant and effortless—an energetic and fantastic co-actor." He also spoke highly of Ranveer Singh, describing him as "a very great actor," and reflected on the continuous learning process in acting.
Looking forward, Suvinder remains focused on his artistic growth. "I simply hope to continue receiving good work and establish a strong identity as an actor. That's what every artist aspires to achieve," he concluded, highlighting his dedication to the craft.
