Attempted Theft at Film Producer Sajid Nadiadwala's Mumbai Bungalow
The Versova police in Mumbai have registered a case of attempted theft at the residence of renowned film producer Sajid Nadiadwala, aged 59, located in the upscale Andheri West neighborhood. The incident, which occurred on January 30, has led to charges against two unidentified individuals for house trespass and house-breaking under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
Discovery of the Incident
The complaint was filed by Akhilesh Yadav, 31, who is responsible for overseeing the bungalow and monitoring CCTV systems for Nadiadwala's production company, Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment Pvt Ltd. On Friday morning at approximately 11 am, while performing his routine duties, Yadav noticed something amiss. He observed that the direction of one of the CCTV cameras installed at the main gate of the bungalow had been tampered with, which immediately raised suspicions.
Yadav promptly informed the production manager, Ramjanam Dubey, and together they decided to visit the bungalow to investigate further. Upon arrival at the premises, they discovered clear signs of forced entry. The latch of a door and a window had been damaged, and the directions of multiple CCTV cameras had been altered. Despite these breaches, a preliminary check revealed that nothing appeared to have been stolen from the property.
CCTV Footage and Police Action
After reviewing the CCTV footage, Yadav and Dubey identified two unknown individuals entering the bungalow between 3.27 am and 3.29 am. The footage showed the accused breaking the lock, gaining access to the premises, and making an attempt to commit theft. This evidence was crucial in building the case.
Following this discovery, Yadav lodged a formal complaint at the Versova police station. Based on his statement, the police registered a First Information Report (FIR) against the two unidentified persons. The charges include:
- House trespass
- House-breaking
- Attempted theft
The bungalow, numbered 192, is situated in Versova, Andheri West, while Nadiadwala's production company is located on Veera Desai Road in the same area. This incident highlights ongoing security concerns in Mumbai's affluent neighborhoods, even for high-profile figures like Sajid Nadiadwala, known for producing blockbuster films in Bollywood.
The police investigation is currently underway, with efforts focused on identifying and apprehending the suspects. Authorities have urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
