The couple was accompanied by US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor as they explored the historic fort and immersed themselves in its rich cultural and architectural heritage.
Arrival and Welcome at the Fort
The distinguished guests entered the fort in a golf cart, traveling from the main entrance to Dussehra Chowk. Upon reaching the Raj Prasad Museum inside the fort, they were warmly welcomed by former Maharawal of Jaisalmer, Chaitanya Raj Singh. During their visit, the couple toured the Palace Museum, Raj Prasad, the historic Rani Mahal, and several other significant sections of the fort. The visitors showed particular interest in the region's architecture, cultural heritage, and the museum's historical collections. During the tour, they were informed that Jaisalmer Fort, built in the 12th century, continues to retain its historic grandeur and strength. The guests appreciated the traditional methods being used to preserve and conserve the fort.
