Vijay's Father Addresses Jana Nayagan Delays, Says Actor Ready for Political Challenges
Vijay's Father on Jana Nayagan Delays, Political Journey

As the theatrical release of the much-anticipated film Jana Nayagan remains shrouded in uncertainty, filmmaker SA Chandrasekhar, who is also the father of superstar Thalapathy Vijay, has publicly addressed the repeated postponements. Speaking to the media earlier today, Chandrasekhar shed light on the ongoing legal developments and expressed confidence in his son's resilience.

Vijay Remains Undeterred Amid Challenges

Reacting to the latest twists in the legal saga surrounding Jana Nayagan, Chandrasekhar made it abundantly clear that Vijay is not backing down. "Vijay remains undeterred and ready to face every challenge ahead," he asserted, emphasizing the actor-politician's steadfast determination. Chandrasekhar pointedly referenced past events, stating, "The people know what happened in Karur. Vijay is not afraid of anything. His chances of success are bright." This remark underscores a belief in public awareness and support for Vijay's endeavors.

Political Obstacles Are Inevitable, Says Chandrasekhar

Chandrasekhar elaborated on the hurdles Vijay is encountering, noting that such challenges are par for the course in politics. "It is normal for those entering politics for the first time to face obstacles. Vijay will face any number of such obstacles," he stated, as quoted by India Today. He stressed that these difficulties are merely part of the process and should not be seen as deterrents. According to Chandrasekhar, Vijay is fully prepared to confront these issues head-on, especially at this critical juncture in his political journey.

Vijay's Entry Sparks Political Discussions

Highlighting the broader impact of Vijay's foray into politics, Chandrasekhar observed a significant cultural shift. "After Vijay entered politics, young people and women are discussing politics. They are more articulate than me," he remarked. This suggests that Vijay's move has ignited conversations among demographics that were previously less engaged, indicating a potential transformation in political discourse. Chandrasekhar also implied that the public is well-aware of the reasons behind Jana Nayagan's delayed release, linking it to the political context.

Legal Developments in Jana Nayagan Case

On the legal front, the Jana Nayagan case has seen fresh developments. The judges have set aside an earlier order passed by a single judge, ruling that sufficient time must be granted to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to file its counter affidavit. Consequently, the matter has been remanded back to the single judge for a fresh hearing. Additionally, the producers have been given time to amend their appeal and challenge the CBFC chairman's January 6 letter, which played a pivotal role in the delay.

Background of the Postponement

Directed by H Vinoth, Jana Nayagan was originally scheduled for a theatrical release on January 9 but was postponed indefinitely. Following this delay, the film's producers, KVN Productions, approached the court after the film was referred to a revising committee based on an internal complaint. Initially, single bench judge PT Asha ruled in favor of the makers, directing the CBFC to issue a U/A 16+ certificate. However, the CBFC appealed against this order, prompting the Jana Nayagan team to move the Supreme Court, which subsequently sent the case back to the Madras High Court for further consideration.

As the legal proceedings continue, Chandrasekhar's comments highlight not only the film's uncertain fate but also Vijay's unwavering resolve in both his cinematic and political pursuits. The situation remains fluid, with the next hearing scheduled for January 21, keeping fans and observers on edge.
