Vikram Singh Opens Up About His Return to Television After Deliberate Break
Vikram Singh, currently starring in the television series Do Duniya Ek Dil, has carved a diverse career spanning films like Kesari and Mardaani 2, along with web shows such as Baarish and Rudra. Despite his success across multiple formats, the actor consciously took a hiatus from television for several years before making a recent comeback to the medium.
Creative Exhaustion and the Need for Growth
Reflecting on what prompted his break, Singh reveals, "As an actor, I was exhausted. I was not learning anything new." He explains that he willingly stepped away for 3–4 years to focus on honing his craft. During this period, he engaged in film and series projects, but by December, he felt a renewed desire to work more extensively. "Then this opportunity came with a good story and a strong, layered character, so I thought I could do this," he adds, highlighting the appeal of his current role.
Financial Stability and Career Planning
Singh points out that television offers a unique financial security that other mediums may not consistently provide. "Financially, TV gives you stability. You can plan your next few years if you are part of a long-running show," he notes. This stability, he emphasizes, also grants actors the freedom to later decide if they wish to take another break, allowing for better career management.
Challenges of Television Commitments
One of the significant drawbacks of television is the immense time commitment it demands. Singh shares, "If a show runs long, you can’t take up other projects." This limitation was a key factor in his decision to step away temporarily, as he sought to grow and explore diverse acting opportunities beyond the daily soap format.
Personal Priorities and Family Time
The break was not solely professional; it was deeply personal for Singh. In 2021, he got married and spent several months traveling with his spouse. The following year, in 2022, his daughter Sia was born. "I wanted to spend time with her and build that bond," he says, explaining why he avoided continuous work and instead took on shorter projects to focus on both his family and his craft.
Balancing Work and Life Upon Return
Now, as he re-enters the demanding world of daily television, Singh feels more equipped to balance his professional and personal life. "Now I feel this is the time when I can give that kind of time to television again," he states. He views his current project as a stepping stone, allowing him to reassess his future career moves with greater clarity and confidence.
