Marathi Actress Vishakha Subhedar Reunites with Son After Kuwait Crisis
Marathi actress Vishakha Subhedar has been reunited with her son Abhinay Subhedar after he was stranded in Kuwait for nearly ten days due to the escalating US-Iran conflict. The emotional reunion occurred at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, where the family welcomed him back to India.
Viral Plea Leads to Government Action
A few days ago, Subhedar shared a tearful video on Instagram, urgently appealing to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for assistance in bringing her son home. In the video, she was visibly distressed, highlighting the dangerous situation her son faced in Kuwait.
The actress revealed that her son's return was part of a larger evacuation effort. She stated, "Today 120 people have returned. Among them, 24 had their visas stuck. The government helped everyone. I posted that video to find a way to bring my son back, and Eknath Shinde immediately took note of it."
Emotional Airport Reunion
Upon seeing her son after the prolonged separation, Subhedar hugged him tightly, with both mother and son breaking down in tears. Speaking to ABP, she expressed her overwhelming emotions, saying, "When I recorded that video, I had tears in my eyes, and today these are tears of happiness. I saw my son after almost 10 days."
She described the constant fear she experienced while her son was abroad, noting, "When he used to tell me that missiles and drones were falling near the hotel where he was staying in Kuwait, I would get extremely tense. I was very scared, but today I am extremely happy to see him."
Logistical Challenges and Government Support
The evacuation process was complicated by significant logistical hurdles. Subhedar explained, "Some people were saying arrangements could be made quickly from Dubai, but it was difficult from Kuwait. The airspace was not available there, which made me even more worried."
Additional visa requirements further complicated the situation. "After the Kuwait visa, a Saudi visa was also required. The embassy made all the arrangements. Because of this entire system working together, Abhinay has returned home today, and I am very grateful to them," she added.
Background of the Stranding
Abhinay Subhedar was originally traveling to London but had to deplane in Kuwait for a layover. He became trapped there as the conflict intensified, with sirens going off day and night, creating a pervasive atmosphere of fear. After his return, he provided detailed accounts of the tense situation to his family.
The successful resolution of this case highlights the coordinated efforts between Indian authorities and diplomatic missions to assist citizens caught in international conflict zones, bringing relief to families across the country.
