Vivek Oberoi's Career Shift: Accident Was Key Reason

Vivek Oberoi burst onto the Bollywood scene with his powerful debut in 'Company'. The film, starring Ajay Devgn, turned him into an overnight sensation. He quickly followed this success with the romantic hit 'Saathiya'. This movie helped him firmly establish his place in the competitive film industry.

A Career That Took an Unexpected Turn

However, Vivek Oberoi's career trajectory did not follow the path many had predicted. Several factors contributed to this shift. Today, he is recognized as a successful entrepreneur. He also made a recent appearance in the film 'Masti 4'. While various reasons have been cited for his step back from acting, a new revelation sheds light on a critical moment.

The Pivotal Accident Revealed by Former Trainer

Vinod Channa, Vivek Oberoi's former fitness trainer, has now spoken out. He revealed that a severe accident and the resulting injuries played a decisive role in the actor's career taking a backseat. During a conversation with Hindi Rush, Channa shared details of this life-threatening incident.

"He had a very bad accident, which caused him a lot of injuries," Channa stated. "This was one of the biggest reasons why he left the industry. People must have assumed it was his depression that caused him to leave. That’s not fully true. He also left because of his injuries."

Praise for Business Acumen Beyond Acting

Channa went on to highlight Vivek Oberoi's impressive talents beyond the silver screen. He praised the actor's sharp business mind and management skills.

"He is a very talented guy. He is the best business tycoon. His business management skills stunned me. He is called by MBA people. He has a very different level of talent," the trainer added, emphasizing Oberoi's successful transition to entrepreneurship.

Vivek Oberoi's Own Account of the Terrifying Night

Earlier, Vivek Oberoi himself had recounted this harrowing experience. He spoke about it during an interview with Mashable India. The near-fatal accident happened while he was shooting for his 2002 film, 'Road', in Rajasthan.

"I was shooting in Rajasthan for Road. We were going from Bikaner to Jaisalmer," Oberoi recalled. "Beautiful roads, beautiful drive, but it was at night. I told the driver at least 15 to 20 times to drive slowly; 'it is night, visibility is low, drive slowly.' I was in the front seat, and after that incident, I haven’t sat in the front seat ever."

A Brush with Death on a Desert Road

He described the moment that almost cost him his life in vivid detail. The actor explained how a simple action saved him.

"I reclined my seat, and suddenly there was a huge crash, a massive sound," he said. "On the road, suddenly, a camel cart came, which was carrying rods. The rods had smashed the windshield, and if my seat had been straight, those rods would have gone into my body. I couldn’t get out of the car because the rods were above me. But I was unscathed. Almost died. After that, I decided not to travel at night."

This firsthand account underscores the severity of the accident. It clearly impacted his personal choices and, as revealed, his professional path in Bollywood.
