120 Bahadur Outperforms Mastiii 4 on Day 2

In a surprising turn of events at the Indian box office, Farhan Akhtar's military drama 120 Bahadur has raced past Vivek Oberoi's adult comedy Mastiii 4 on its second day, despite having fewer screenings across the country. The two films, which released head-to-head on Friday, are now showing contrasting trajectories in their commercial performance.

Day 2 Collection Figures Reveal Shift

According to data from trade tracker Sacnilk, 120 Bahadur collected Rs 4 crore on Saturday, bringing its total net India collection to Rs 6.25 crore. Meanwhile, Mastiii 4 earned Rs 2.75 crore on the same day, taking its total to Rs 5.50 crore. This represents a significant lead of Rs 75 lakh for the Farhan Akhtar-starrer over its competitor.

Occupancy Rates Tell the Story

The collection figures are reflected in the occupancy rates recorded on Saturday. 120 Bahadur recorded an overall occupancy of 14.26 percent, outperforming Mastiii 4's occupancy of 10.36 percent. What makes this achievement more remarkable is that 120 Bahadur is running in 2,705 shows across India, while Mastiii 4 has 2,826 shows, giving the adult comedy more opportunities to attract audiences.

Regional Performance Breakdown

The military drama saw its strongest performance in Chennai, where it recorded an impressive 51.25 percent occupancy21.25 percent occupancy in 238 shows. In key metropolitan markets, Mumbai registered 16.50 percent occupancy across 464 shows, while Delhi-NCR saw 12.75 percent occupancy across 757 shows.

Critical Reception vs Audience Response

The box office performance presents an interesting contrast to the critical reception of both films. While Mastiii 4 was panned by critics, it opened surprisingly well on its first day. Conversely, 120 Bahadur received favorable reviews but registered a slower start on Friday. However, strong word-of-mouth appears to have turned the tide for the military drama, allowing it to overtake the adult comedy on the second day.

Directed by Razneesh Ghai, 120 Bahadur also features Raashii Khanna, Vivan Bhatena, and Ankit Siwach in key roles. Mastiii 4, directed by Milap Zaveri, stars Riteish Deshmukh, Aftab Shivdasani, Arshad Warsi, Nargis Fakhri, Genelia Deshmukh, Elnaaz Norouzi, Ruhi Singh, and Shaad Randhawa.

The coming days will be crucial for both films as they attempt to maintain their momentum in the competitive box office landscape.
