The highly anticipated Malayalam comedy film 'Aadu 3: One Last Ride' has made a spectacular start with its advance ticket sales, signaling strong audience excitement ahead of its theatrical release. The first phase of advance bookings commenced on March 14, 2026, and within a remarkably short timeframe, the movie has already generated impressive numbers in the Kerala market, setting a positive tone for its box office performance.
Impressive Advance Sales Figures Revealed
According to early estimates provided by the renowned box office tracking platform What The Fuss, the film has crossed the significant milestone of Rs 1 crore in advance ticket sales specifically in Kerala. This substantial revenue has been accumulated from approximately 1,020 tracked shows across the state, with around 58,000 tickets already sold to eager fans. These numbers highlight the enduring popularity of the Aadu franchise and the keen anticipation surrounding this third installment.
Release Details and Franchise Background
Directed by Midhun Manuel Thomas, 'Aadu 3: One Last Ride' is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on March 19, 2026. This marks the third chapter in the beloved series, following the original 'Aadu' which debuted in 2015. Interestingly, while the first film did not achieve immediate box office success, it gradually evolved into a cult favourite among Malayalam cinema enthusiasts, laying the foundation for a dedicated fanbase that now eagerly awaits this new entry.
The upcoming release will not be without competition, as it is set to clash at the box office with 'Dhurandhar Part 2', another major film slated for release around the same period. This adds an extra layer of intrigue to the commercial performance of both movies.
Two-Part Narrative Structure Confirmed
In a recent interview with Club FM, director Midhun Manuel Thomas provided crucial insights into the film's structure, confirming that 'Aadu 3' will be told in two distinct parts. He emphasized that this decision was made during the initial writing stages and is driven by the narrative's complexity.
"Aadu 3 was never planned as a single-part film," Thomas stated. "The story requires extensive world building, which takes time. Since the narrative unfolds across two timelines, we needed enough space to establish the world properly. Up to a certain point, the story will be told in Part 1, which already runs for two hours and 47 minutes."
He further explained that the remaining portions of the story will be completed in the second part, with the epic conclusion of the Aadu saga contingent upon audience support and reception. This ambitious approach underscores the director's vision for a comprehensive and immersive cinematic experience.
Star-Studded Cast Returns with New Additions
The film boasts an ensemble cast that sees the return of franchise favourites, including Jayasurya and Vinayakan in leading roles. They are joined by familiar faces such as Saiju Kurup, Vijay Babu, Sunny Wayne, Dharmajan Bolgatty, and Bhagath Manuel. Adding fresh energy to the mix are new cast members Alleya Bourne and Krishnajeev, who are expected to bring new dynamics to the beloved series.
It is worth noting that Midhun Manuel Thomas' previous directorial venture was the critically acclaimed film 'Abraham Ozler', which has further heightened expectations for his latest project.
The robust advance booking response for 'Aadu 3: One Last Ride' not only reflects the film's pre-release buzz but also sets the stage for what could be a landmark release in Malayalam cinema. With its two-part storytelling, popular cast, and strong early sales, the movie is poised to make a significant impact upon its arrival in theaters next year.
