Dhurandhar's Box Office Reign Continues: Crosses Rs 1300 Crore Worldwide
Dhurandhar Crosses Rs 1300 Crore, Outperforms Pushpa 2

Ranveer Singh's action-packed spy thriller Dhurandhar shows no signs of slowing down at the box office. The film has now completed nearly six weeks in theatres with remarkable consistency. Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar first hit screens on December 5th and features an ensemble cast including Akshaye Khanna, R Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, and Arjun Rampal alongside Singh.

Festive Boost Drives Impressive Collections

The Makar Sankranti holiday provided a significant midweek boost to Dhurandhar's earnings. On day 41 of its theatrical run, the film collected approximately Rs 3.4 crore according to industry tracker Sacnilk. This strong performance pushed the film's worldwide total beyond the impressive Rs 1300 crore milestone.

Dhurandhar's day 41 collections comfortably outpaced other major releases. The film earned more than double what Pushpa 2: The Rise managed on the same day of its run. While Pushpa 2 collected Rs 1.55 crore, Dhurandhar's earnings stood at Rs 3.4 crore. Similarly, Chhaava earned Rs 1.3 crore on its day 41, making Dhurandhar's performance notably stronger.

Weekly Performance and Theatre Occupancy

The film experienced a slight dip at the beginning of its sixth week. Monday collections came in at Rs 2.35 crore, followed by Rs 2.6 crore on Tuesday. However, the Makar Sankranti holiday on Wednesday revived momentum with the Rs 3.4 crore collection.

Theatre occupancy data reveals interesting patterns. Overall occupancy across India stood at 16.49% on Wednesday. Morning shows recorded 7.63% occupancy, while afternoon shows saw 17.81%. Evening shows maintained 18.45% occupancy, and night shows peaked at 22.07%.

Regional variations emerged in the data. Delhi NCR hosted 719 shows with 9.50% occupancy. Mumbai performed more strongly with 349 shows and 17.25% occupancy.

Historic Comparisons and Milestones

Dhurandhar's performance becomes even more impressive when compared to previous blockbusters. The film has already surpassed the lifetime collections of KGF: Chapter 2 (Rs 1215 crore) and RRR (Rs 1230 crore). It currently ranks as the fourth highest-grossing Indian film worldwide.

The Aditya Dhar directorial has become the highest-grossing Indian film within India. However, it still trails behind Pushpa 2: The Rule (Rs 1742.10 crore) and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (Rs 1788.06 crore) in global collections.

Competition and Future Prospects

Despite facing competition from multiple new releases, Dhurandhar has maintained its box office dominance. Recent films like Prabhas' The Raja Saab, Chiranjeevi's Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, and Vir Das' Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos have failed to significantly impact Dhurandhar's collections.

The film continues to pose stiff competition to fresh theatrical releases each week. Industry observers now wonder whether Sunny Deol and Varun Dhawan's upcoming Border 2, scheduled for January 23 release, can challenge Dhurandhar's strong run.

On day 42, Thursday collections reached Rs 1.95 crore by evening. This brings the film's total collection to Rs 815.55 crore. The consistent performance demonstrates the film's enduring appeal among audiences across India.
