Dhurandhar Nears ₹800 Cr, Poised to Beat RRR Record

The cinematic juggernaut Dhurandhar, starring Ranveer Singh and directed by Aditya Dhar, shows absolutely no signs of fatigue even after a full month in theatres. The spy action film continues to mint money, inching closer to shattering some of Indian cinema's most formidable box office records.

Historic Box Office March Continues

According to data from the industry tracker Sacnilk, Dhurandhar added another ₹1.6 crore to its India nett collection by 5 pm on its 34th day, Wednesday. This remarkable daily haul has propelled its total domestic earnings to a staggering ₹783.35 crore. The film's relentless performance now positions it to overtake the domestic collection of the epic RRR (2022), directed by S.S. Rajamouli.

Having already surpassed RRR's India total of ₹782.2 crore, Dhurandhar now sits comfortably at the fourth spot on the list of highest India nett collections, trailing behind the giant KGF: Chapter 2 (₹859.7 crore). On the global stage, the film is a colossal hit. With worldwide collections already between ₹1,220 to ₹1,240 crore as per different reports, it is on the cusp of becoming the fourth-highest-grossing Indian film ever, needing only to surpass its current total to sit behind Pushpa 2: The Rule (₹1,742.1 crore).

Steady Audience Demand and Overseas Success

The film's appeal remains strong across the country. On its 33rd day (Tuesday), Dhurandhar maintained an overall Hindi occupancy of 12.98%, with night shows seeing the highest footfall at 15.82%. It continues to enjoy a massive number of screenings, with 914 shows in Delhi-NCR and 617 in Mumbai alone. Interestingly, Chennai reported the highest occupancy rate at 23.25% across 65 shows, demonstrating its pan-India pull.

Internationally, the film is a major success story. It is rapidly approaching the ₹300 crore milestone in overseas collections alone. Jio Studios, celebrating "a month of unprecedented dominance," announced worldwide earnings of ₹1,240 crore, while Sacnilk data lists the total at ₹1,220 crore, including ₹282 crore from foreign markets.

Industry Acclaim and a Defining Milestone

The production house Yash Raj Films (YRF), led by Aditya Chopra, released an official statement hailing the film's achievement as a transformative moment for the industry. The statement did not just praise the star cast but also gave a special shout-out to the technicians behind the scenes.

YRF's statement proclaimed, "DHURANDHAR is not a film... it's a milestone moment in Indian cinema that will be remembered forever." It congratulated director Aditya Dhar and Jio Studios for creating "the highest grossing Indian film of all time (In a Single language)." The note further applauded Dhar's "clarity of purpose, fearless storytelling and unwavering commitment to excellence," stating it has set a new benchmark. It ended by thanking the entire team, calling them "the Dhurandhars" who brought the vision to life.

This sustained box office dominance, a month into its release, underscores Dhurandhar's status as a true cultural phenomenon. It is not just a film but a record-breaking event that is reshaping the commercial landscape of Hindi and Indian cinema.
