Dhurandhar Achieves Milestone at Box Office on Day 39

Ranveer Singh's latest film, Dhurandhar, continues to make waves in the entertainment industry. After 39 days in theaters, this period spy thriller has not only maintained strong earnings but also climbed the ranks of all-time Indian box office hits. Directed by Aditya Dhar and produced by Jio Studios, the movie is now a major success story.

Domestic Box Office Performance

On its 39th day, Dhurandhar added Rs 2.25 crore to its domestic total. This performance outshone other recent releases. For instance, Ikkis, a period war drama, earned only Rs 35 lakh on the same day. Even the Hindi version of the new Telugu film The Raja Saab managed just Rs 1.75 crore. These comparisons highlight Dhurandhar's enduring appeal in its sixth week.

With special ticket prices of Rs 149 offered by the makers, Tuesday earnings are expected to be significant. According to Jio Studios, the film has now accumulated Rs 860.10 crore domestically. This figure allows it to surpass KGF: Chapter 2, which had lifetime earnings of Rs 859.70 crore. As a result, Dhurandhar becomes the third highest grossing Indian film ever in India.

The top two spots remain held by Pushpa 2: The Rule with Rs 1234.10 crore and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion with Rs 1030.42 crore. Dhurandhar still has ground to cover to challenge these leaders.

Worldwide Box Office Success

Globally, Dhurandhar has shown similar dominance. Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh reports that the movie earned $31.588 million or Rs 284.83 crore after its sixth weekend. Sacnilk data indicates a total global collection of Rs 1258.60 crore. This achievement means Dhurandhar has overtaken RRR, which had worldwide earnings of Rs 1230 crore.

Now, Dhurandhar ranks as the fourth highest grossing Indian film worldwide. The top three are Pushpa 2: The Rule with Rs 1742.10 crore, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion with Rs 1788.06 crore, and Dangal with Rs 2070.30 crore.

An interesting note: if China's box office revenue is excluded from Dangal's total, Dhurandhar becomes the highest grossing Hindi film ever worldwide. It already holds the title for the highest grossing Hindi film domestically, having beaten the Hindi version of Pushpa 2: The Rule last year.

Industry Recognition and Future Prospects

Subhash Ghai, a veteran filmmaker, praised Dhurandhar as an "artistic craft" of cinema that deserves its commercial success. The film's ability to outperform newer releases and set records underscores its impact on the box office landscape.

As Dhurandhar continues its run, audiences and analysts alike are watching to see if it can climb higher in the rankings. With strong word-of-mouth and strategic promotions, the film's journey is far from over.
