Kangana Ranaut's 'Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata' continued its box office run on Day 5, maintaining a steady hold. The Imtiaz Ali directorial earned a net collection of Rs 1.65 crore across 2,020 shows, marking a 43.5% increase from its Day 4 collection of Rs 1.15 crore. The strong weekday growth has pushed its total India net collection to Rs 8.30 crore, with gross earnings climbing to Rs 9.88 crore.
'Haunted 3D' Maintains Lead
'Haunted 3D: Echoes of the Past' continues to lead among new releases, with a total India gross collection of Rs 15.67 crore and net collection of Rs 13.35 crore.
'Cocktail 2' Generates Pre-Release Buzz
As current releases compete, industry focus has shifted to 'Cocktail 2', set to hit cinemas on June 19. Starring Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Rashmika Mandanna, the romantic comedy-drama has been generating encouraging pre-release buzz. Advance bookings opened on June 14, and early ticket sales have been strong. Early projections suggest a debut in the Rs 12 crore to Rs 15 crore net range in India, placing it among stronger Bollywood openings of the year. If current booking momentum continues, the film could exceed these projections.
'Cocktail' vs 'Cocktail 2'
The original 'Cocktail', directed by Homi Adajania, opened to Rs 10.95 crore net in 2012 and became one of the most successful urban romantic dramas of its time. 'Cocktail 2' aims to capitalize on the film's popularity while introducing a fresh love story with a new cast.
