Kangana's Film Sees Growth But Trails Competitors

Actor-politician Kangana Ranaut's latest film 'Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata' witnessed a notable increase in box office earnings on its third day. However, the collections were insufficient to surpass its competitors, making it the weakest performer among the major releases this weekend.

According to early estimates from Sacnilk, the film accumulated a net total of Rs 1.80 crore on Day 3 across 1,914 shows nationwide. This represents a 24.1 per cent rise from its Day 2 earnings of Rs 1.45 crore and its opening day collection of Rs 1 crore.

With these figures, 'Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata' has achieved an estimated total India gross collection of Rs 5.09 crore, while its cumulative India net collection stands at Rs 4.25 crore after three days in theaters.

Despite the growth, the film struggled to keep pace with other new releases. The weekend's biggest winner was the horror thriller 'Haunted 3D: Echoes of the Past', which comfortably outperformed the competition. The horror film recorded India gross collections of Rs 11.03 crore and net collections of Rs 9.35 crore across 10,807 shows, more than doubling the earnings of Kangana's film over the same period.

Meanwhile, 'Main Vaapas Aaunga', featuring filmmaker Imtiaz Ali, also stayed ahead. On Day 3, it earned an estimated Rs 2.50 crore net from 2,155 shows, taking its total India gross collection to Rs 6.60 crore and net collection to Rs 5.50 crore.

The box office performance of 'Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata' is particularly disappointing given the support it has received from state governments. The film was recently granted tax-free status in Haryana and Delhi. Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced the tax exemption after attending a special screening on Saturday.

Set against the backdrop of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, the film explores themes of courage, compassion, duty, and humanity. According to the Chief Minister, the narrative carries a message that resonates strongly with audiences across the country.
