Kolkata witnessed a tense situation on Monday when stones and eggs were hurled at Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Abhishek Banerjee during his visit to families of post-poll violence victims in the city. The incident occurred in the Tiljala area, where Banerjee had gone to meet the bereaved families and express solidarity with them.
Attack on TMC Leader
According to eyewitnesses, a group of miscreants started pelting stones and throwing eggs at Banerjee's vehicle as soon as he arrived at the locality. The attack was sudden and caught the security personnel off guard. However, Banerjee remained unharmed as his security team quickly formed a protective cordon around him and escorted him to a safe location.
