An 18-year-old boy died by suicide while on a video call with a female friend in northwest Delhi’s Azadpuri in the early hours of Sunday. The incident has left the local community in shock as authorities investigate the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
Details of the Incident
The boy, who worked in a factory, was residing with his mother and sister. According to police, a PCR call was received at Adarsh Nagar police station, following which officers rushed to the spot. The boy was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.
Mother's Account
The mother of the deceased told reporters that she thought her son was asleep and went to the terrace to sleep. She was later awakened by calls from the girl who was on the video call with her son, urging her to check on him. The mother rushed to his room and found him in an unconscious state.
Police have registered a case and are investigating the matter. No suicide note has been recovered so far. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination, and further details are awaited.
