A horrific incident of child sexual abuse has come to light in Rewa district, Madhya Pradesh, where a six-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her paternal uncle on June 3. The accused, who has a criminal background, reportedly lured the child with an ice cream before committing the crime. The minor victim is currently admitted to a hospital for medical observation and is stated to be out of danger.

The crime occurred on Wednesday afternoon under the jurisdiction of Kotwali police station in Rewa. According to police, the accused, who resides in the same neighborhood, took advantage of the girl's innocence by offering her an ice cream and then sexually assaulted her. The survivor's father is also a criminal and is currently lodged in jail. At the time of the incident, the girl's mother had gone to attend a court hearing related to her husband's case.
When the mother returned home in the evening, the girl narrated her ordeal. The mother approached the police the next day and lodged a formal complaint. Based on the complaint, a case has been registered against the accused under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
Police Investigation
Kotwali police station in-charge Nisha Mishra stated that the accused has a criminal record and is named in several cases. “After the mother came to us, the girl was sent to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital for a medical examination. Doctors found injuries and admitted her for observation. She is under shock but is out of danger,” Mishra said.
Mishra further revealed that the accused and the survivor's father are siblings, and both have criminal backgrounds. However, the two families share enmity and live in close proximity. “Efforts are on to arrest the accused, and we are hopeful of arresting him soon,” she added.
