Adarsh Gourav reflects on the experience: "Voices of the Land has been one of the most eye-opening experiences for me as a storyteller. I was constantly in awe of the knowledge these communities had of their surroundings, the plants, the animals, and everything the land provides. Biodiversity Day feels especially meaningful because it’s not just about protecting nature, but also preserving the traditions and wisdom of people who have lived in harmony with it for generations. I’m grateful to be part of this documentary and help bring these stories and voices to a larger audience."

Behind the Scenes

From embracing a towering tree to quietly taking notes amid the hills, Adarsh Gourav immersed himself in the landscapes and stories of Northeast India while filming Voices of the Land. These moments reflect his journey of understanding biodiversity, indigenous wisdom, and the deep bond communities share with nature.

Charu Budhiraja, producer at Edstead, shares the vision: "With Voices of the Land, we wanted to create a deeply immersive storytelling experience that celebrates communities and cultures that are rarely represented in mainstream narratives. Adarsh brought genuine curiosity and emotional honesty to the journey, which made the storytelling even more authentic and impactful."
