Amish Tripathi Denies Ranveer Singh Shiva Trilogy Deal

For over a decade, speculation about a big-screen adaptation of Amish Tripathi's Shiva Trilogy has excited fans, with numerous Bollywood names linked to the project. The latest buzz suggested that Ranveer Singh had officially come on board to play Lord Shiva and acquired the rights to The Immortals of Meluha under his production banner, planning a grand film adaptation.

Amish Tripathi Clarifies the Rumours

Speaking to Bombay Times from London, Amish clarified that no such deal has been signed. He said, "Ranveer Singh is one of India's finest actors, no doubt, and I have huge respect for him. But the news about this deal being signed is not true at all. The rights for the Shiva Trilogy are with me, and nothing has been signed with anyone as yet."

History of Adaptation Attempts

Over the years, talks of cinematic adaptations of his books have repeatedly made headlines, including reports of Karan Johar acquiring the rights to The Immortals of Meluha. However, none of these projects moved into production.

Why the Delay?

Reflecting on the delay, Amish believes timing may ultimately be the deciding force. "Lots of deals have happened, but nothing has been made yet. The film rights for all my books are back with me. I am sure they will be made into movies at the time when Lord Shiva and the Mother Goddess will it — not earlier, not later."
