The ongoing internal conflict within the Malayalam actors' association AMMA has intensified further after the leadership issued show-cause notices to four members. The notices were reportedly sent to Ansiba Hassan, Tiny Tom, Kuku Parameswaran, and Lakshmi Priya.
Leadership Calls for Explanation
As reported by Asianet News, all four members have been asked to appear before the leadership between June 1 and June 3 to explain their positions regarding the ongoing dispute inside the organisation. This latest development comes at a time when tensions within the association have become public, sparking major discussions within the Malayalam film industry over the past few weeks.
AMMA Leadership to Hear Ansiba Hassan
The association has decided to hear Ansiba Hassan directly regarding the complaints she raised against Tiny Tom and others. The leadership has reportedly asked her to appear during the first week of June. The executive committee is now moving towards a possible resolution by hearing the complainant’s side in detail. However, Ansiba has made it clear that she currently lacks confidence in the existing leadership handling the issue. She has reportedly demanded that an impartial committee be formed if her complaints are to be properly considered. According to reports, Ansiba wants actors Ramesh Pisharody, Dhyan Sreenivasan, and Mala Parvathy to be part of the panel that hears her allegations.
Ansiba Hassan Seeks Transparency in Proceedings
Apart from seeking a neutral committee, Ansiba has also requested transparency during the proceedings. She has demanded that all discussions and statements presented before the committee be video recorded. AMMA’s general body meeting is scheduled to be held on June 21. Ahead of the meeting, the executive committee led by president Shweta Menon is attempting to settle the issue internally.
Allegations Against Tiny Tom Spark Controversy
Ansiba Hassan had earlier publicly stated that she had lost trust in the organisation. She also announced plans to directly approach the Home Minister with a complaint against Tiny Tom. According to Ansiba, Tiny Tom was responsible for her resignation from the post of AMMA’s joint secretary. She had also accused him of spreading negative statements about her.
The AMMA leadership is now attempting to resolve the matter before it escalates further. The coming weeks will be crucial as the association tries to address the internal strife and restore harmony among its members.
