Vijayawada: Anna Konidela, wife of deputy chief minister and Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan, has recalled the emotional journey behind his political rise, saying the victory was not just a political achievement but a deeply personal moment after years of struggle, criticism and uncertainty.
In an emotional social media post to mark the celebration of two years of NDA government in Andhra Pradesh, Anna said people usually see only the victory, celebrations, photographs and headlines, but rarely witness the years of hardship, humiliation and challenges that come before success. She said Pawan Kalyan endured criticism, personal attacks and constant questioning but continued his journey without compromising on his beliefs.
“People see victory. Photos. Smiles. Celebrations. Headlines. But very few see the years behind it — the exhaustion, humiliation and uncertainty,” Anna wrote.
Recalling the difficult phase, Anna said that while Pawan Kalyan was fighting political battles in public, she was supporting him from home while taking care of their children, often experiencing moments of loneliness and emotional pressure. “There were days I wanted to break down too. Days I was scared. But we kept going. Not because it was easy, but because some people cannot betray their conscience,” she said.
Anna said the eventual victory carried a meaning beyond politics and reflected the transformation of years of pain and struggle into a moment of recognition. She said the emotions she experienced during the victory celebrations were a result of seeing Pawan Kalyan’s perseverance rewarded. “Years of pain turning into one single moment. Those were tears of joy and pure happiness,” she said.
She also recalled a moment during the celebrations when Prime Minister Narendra Modi noticed her emotional reaction. Anna said the tears reflected happiness and pride after witnessing the journey of a person who remained committed despite several obstacles. Anna said she felt proud of a person who refused to give up despite facing years of criticism and difficulties.
