Ansiba Hassan Gives Statement in Complaint Against Actor and Police

Kochi: Actor Ansiba Hassan gave a statement before the Thrikkakara assistant commissioner on Sunday after she raised an allegation against another actor and a police officer. The development comes close on the heels of a controversy triggered by an internal rift in the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA). Ansiba raised the complaint against actor Lakshmipriya, who is the vice-president of AMMA, and a sub-inspector. She lodged the complaint with the chief minister's office on Friday.

Details of the Allegations

She alleged that Lakshmipriya filed a false complaint against her, and a sub-inspector attached to the Women's Cell, Tripunithura, identified as Reshma, subjected her to unlawful detention as part of verifying this alleged false complaint against her.

Statement to Assistant Commissioner

After meeting with the assistant commissioner, Ansiba told media that he asked questions and understood the matter in detail. She said that he also informed her that a decision on her complaint will be taken after listening to the other parties as well. The assistant commissioner is likely to record the statement of Lakshmipriya too on Monday.

Renewed Allegations Against Tiny Tom

Ansiba, who came to prominence following her roles in the Drishya film series, doubled down on her allegations against actor Tiny Tom as well, saying that he did wrong not only her but society. Speaking to media after reaching the assistant commissioner's office, she said that he has committed a wrong towards secular Kerala. Hassan had accused Tom of making communal remarks targeting her.

Call for Independent Committee

She reiterated her objection to the same executive committee from which she resigned and made some allegations, addressing her grievances. She called for an independent committee drawn from other AMMA members to inquire into the matter.

Internal Turmoil in AMMA

The internal turmoil within AMMA recently escalated as a former front office manager filed a fresh complaint with the Kochi city commissioner, accusing general secretary Cuckoo Parameswaran and a few others of orchestrating a malicious conspiracy against her. In her complaint, Atulya alleged that Parameswaran pressured an association security guard, Muhammad, to manufacture false and defamatory statements to ruin her reputation. To back her claims, Atulya released an audio recording in which Muhammad admits to being threatened and coerced into giving false testimony. However, Parameswaran dismissed the allegations as false and motivated by job dismissal, stating that Atulya was terminated due to unsatisfactory work during her probation.
