Arjun Punjj Talks About Playing Diggy in Sony SAB's Yaadein
Arjun Punjj on Playing Diggy in Sony SAB's Yaadein

Yaadein continues to serve up stories that blend humor, heart, and everyday relatability, making it a show that audiences can smile along with. It proves that even medical mysteries can have a playful twist when told in the Sony SAB way. Diggy, played by Arjun Punjj, is one of the many characters in the show who has become an important part of Dr. Shrishty’s life. Diggy possesses a calming nature, maturity, a balanced outlook, and often acts as the stabilizing influence in situations that would otherwise be fraught with emotional conflict.

In this conversation, Arjun Punjj talks about understanding Diggy’s personality, playing a character who stays grounded in tough situations, his experience working with the cast, and what viewers can expect from Diggy in the upcoming episodes.

On Diggy's Personality

Dr. Shrishty considers Diggy an important part of her life. What is he like? What sets him apart? Diggy is a chill, calm, and collected guy — someone who doesn’t get caught up in emotions or tough situations. What makes him different is the way he handles conflict. Whether it’s a disagreement or something emotionally charged, he steps in to calm everyone down and encourage them to look at the bigger picture. He believes that some things take time and often tells people to trust the process instead of reacting impulsively. That maturity and grounded approach is what sets him apart.

On Diggy's Best Strength

His greatest strength is his ability to stay calm when everyone else is emotional. He’s a stabilizing force, trying to look at every point of view before making up his mind. With Dr. Shrishty, Dr. Dev, or Gia, he remains the same — empathetic and logical. He is always fair to both sides and willing to concede when someone else has a valid point. That balance and fairness make him strong.

On Favourite Diggy Moment to Shoot So Far

My favourite Diggy moment has to be the very first scene I shot for the show, where Dr. Dev comes in and finds Diggy and Dr. Shrishty spending an evening together. I loved the way Diggy diffused the tension with humor and his signature light-hearted wisdom. He puts a smile back on the situation and calmly helps everyone see things more clearly. That scene really defined Diggy as a man and is one of my favorites.

On the Biggest Challenge in Playing a Character Like Diggy

The challenge is to maintain that calmness in situations that would lead most people to react emotionally. As an actor, there are times when you want to match the intensity of a scene; Diggy does the opposite. He slows down. He listens. He thinks. Then he responds. That restraint and keeping the character interesting requires conscious control and a thorough understanding of his personality.

On Being a Part of Yaadein

What I love the most about Yaadein is that it remains relatable but adds a little dollop of fun with the medical stories. It’s not just about the hospital cases; it’s about what happens because of them — the fun, warmth, and unexpected moments between characters. The balance feels refreshing because the show never gets too heavy; instead, it mixes lighthearted storytelling with intriguing tracks that keep viewers curious. That blend has been fun and creatively satisfying.

On the Experience of Working with Iqbal Khan and Gulki Joshi

It’s been a wonderful experience working with Iqbal, Gulki, and the entire team. It is both professional and supportive. We have space to improvise, bounce ideas off each other, and be part of scenes.

On Diggy’s Upcoming Journey

We are going to see more of Diggy in upcoming episodes. There are some interesting developments with him and the people around him, but viewers will have to wait and watch to see how everything unfolds.
