Ashlesha Sawant and Sandeep Baswana Wed After 23 Years

Ashlesha Sawant and Sandeep Baswana tied the knot in 2025 after being together for 23 years. The couple recently appeared on a podcast with Hauterrfly, where they opened up about their love story, how they first met, and much more. Ashlesha also recalled meeting her in-laws for the first time and how it wasn't a very pleasant experience.

First Meeting with In-Laws

Sandeep said, "When my mom came home, she realized that there's someone in my life. I decided to have her meet Ashlesha, so I invited her for dinner. However, she came home wearing very bold makeup and looked very different." Ashlesha added, "I wasn't wearing the right kind of outfit and was very, very nervous. I don't remember how I behaved." Sandeep further said, "She was saying anything and everything. She acted like she's drunk or something. I told my parents that she's a friend."

Live-In Relationship Before Marriage

While talking about their live-in relationship before marriage, Ashlesha said, "At his place, there were parties after pack-up. Often, it happened once or twice a week. I would often stay there because we had to go to the set together the next day. That's how it all started. Gradually, it didn't remain limited to just get-togethers. I started going to his place after pack-up to spend time with him. No one knew about this."

Friendship Turned Deeper

She further recalled how their friendship turned into something much deeper. Ashlesha added, "Sometimes he would say, 'Let's watch this movie,' and then the whole night would turn into a movie marathon. Sometimes he would say, 'Let's go to Goa,' and I would be ready immediately. Sometimes we would leave for a party and return home after two days. He was like the captain of my life. Wherever he took me, I followed." Ashlesha further added, "Gradually, I started liking everything about him. I became like a child. Whatever he did, I liked it. Even his small things became dear to me."
