In a disturbing incident, a Bengaluru-based astrologer has been booked for allegedly sexually assaulting a 35-year-old woman during a consultation at his clinic. The accused, identified as Ramesh, had promised to solve the victim's personal and professional problems through special rituals.

The victim, a resident of the city, visited the astrologer's clinic in the Basaveshwaranagar area on Friday evening seeking solutions to her ongoing issues. According to the police, the astrologer asked her to sit in a secluded room under the pretext of performing a ritual. He then allegedly sexually assaulted her. The woman managed to escape and immediately filed a complaint at the local police station.
Legal Action
Based on the complaint, the Basaveshwaranagar police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, including 376 (rape) and 506 (criminal intimidation). The accused is currently absconding, and a search operation is underway to apprehend him. Police have also seized the clinic premises for further investigation.
