A 24-year-old woman in Bhopal was allegedly raped for over four years by a man who promised to marry her. The incident was reported at the Bairagarh police station on Saturday, following which a case was registered.

Police officials stated that both the accused and the victim belong to the same community. The accused allegedly sexually exploited the woman for nearly four years by repeatedly promising to marry her. However, he later refused to marry her, expressing doubts about her character. The police have registered the case and initiated an investigation. As of now, the accused has not been arrested.
How They Met
According to police reports, the 24-year-old woman and the accused first met at a wedding ceremony. They became friends, and the accused allegedly began to outrage her modesty on the false promise of marriage. Whenever the woman raised the topic of marriage, the accused reportedly kept postponing it.
Recent Incident
In the most recent instance, according to the complaint, the accused had physical relations with her on May 15 at a hotel in Bairagarh. Once again, the woman pressured him to marry her. This time, the accused clearly backed out of his promise. He allegedly questioned her character, claiming that she had relationships with other people as well. This led to a serious dispute between them.
Legal Action
When the accused did not change his stance, the woman approached the Bairagarh police station. Police have registered a case against the accused and have initiated efforts to locate him. The investigation is ongoing.
