A tragic incident unfolded in Palghar district where a 22-year-old biker, identified as Nitin Vartha, allegedly took his own life after discovering that his friend and pillion rider, 15-year-old Vaibhav Lahange, had died in a road accident. The incident occurred on Friday in the Manor area of Palghar.
Accident Details
According to police reports, Vartha was riding a motorcycle with Lahange as his pillion when he lost control and hit a light pole and a tree. The impact was so severe that Lahange was thrown into the air. Vartha sustained injuries but regained consciousness after some time. Upon realizing that his friend had succumbed to the injuries, he walked to a nearby orchard and allegedly hanged himself from a tree.
Police Investigation
The police have registered a case and are investigating the matter. No suicide note was found at the scene. Authorities are also looking into whether the accident was caused by rash driving or any other factors. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination.
