Bobby Deol Opens Up About Addiction, Wife Tanya's Support in Career Comeback
Bobby Deol on Addiction, Wife Tanya's Support in Comeback

Bobby Deol is currently enjoying a remarkable second phase in his acting career. The actor, who had been navigating a low period professionally, made a notable comeback with Salman Khan in 'Race 3'. Subsequently, his performances in web series like 'Aashram' and the film 'Class Of 83' earned him widespread appreciation. Following his role in 'Animal', he became an internet sensation, affectionately dubbed 'Lord Bobby' by fans.

In a recent candid interview on 'Aap Ki Adalat' with Rajat Sharma, Bobby opened up about his struggles with alcoholism during his career slump and the unwavering support of his wife, Tanya Deol. He stated, "When you give up, you get into self-pity. It is human nature. You feel your world has ended, nobody likes you, and you turn to addictions to sedate yourself. My father always had a liking for drinking, and I got addicted. First, you drink alcohol, and then alcohol drinks you. But my wife is my spine, my backbone, my everything. Only a wife can endure what a husband goes through—my changing personality, my anger, my irritation. If Tanya were not in my life, perhaps I would not be sitting here talking to you today."

He further elaborated, "She managed the household and bore the expenses. She worked and never let me feel inadequate. She always asked why I thought so poorly of myself. But change only comes from within. It happened when my children asked my wife why I stayed at home while she went to the office. That struck me. Children look up to you. That is when I snapped out of it and started working on myself."
