Makers Deny Certification Hurdles for Salman Khan's 'Maatrubhumi'

The production banner of Salman Khan, Salman Khan Films, has dismissed recent reports claiming that the upcoming film 'Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace' is facing certification issues with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). In a statement released on Saturday, the banner clarified that the film has not yet been submitted to the CBFC for clearance, labeling the rumors as false and entirely baseless.

“Any claims suggesting that ‘Maatrubhumi: May War Rest In Peace’ has encountered issues with the CBFC or that its certification has been put on hold are false. The film has not yet been submitted to the CBFC for certification. Therefore, such reports are entirely baseless,” the banner said on Instagram.

Urging Responsible Reporting

Salman Khan Films also appealed to media organizations and individuals to refrain from circulating unverified information. The banner emphasized that all official updates regarding the film will be shared through its official channels only. This clarification comes after earlier reports this week suggested that the movie might miss its planned August release due to ongoing censor board processes.

Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, 'Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace' stars Salman Khan in the role of Colonel Bikkumalla Santosh Babu, who sacrificed his life along with 19 other soldiers of the 16 Bihar Regiment during the 2020 Galwan Valley clash between Indian and Chinese troops. The film was initially slated for a theatrical release on April 17 under the title 'Battle of Galwan' before being renamed to its current title.

Release Date Still Unannounced

Despite the clarification, the makers have yet to announce a fresh release date for the film. Apart from Salman Khan, the movie also features Chitrangada Singh in a pivotal role. The film's production and release timeline remain under wraps as the team prepares to submit the film for certification in due course.
