Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal has publicly announced he is ready for a new chapter in his personal life, just months after his divorce from dancer and creator Dhanashree Verma was finalized. The leg-spinner took to Instagram with a bold message that has set social media abuzz, signaling his intention to find a life partner and move forward.
Chahal's Big Announcement on Instagram
On Wednesday, the cricketer shared a series of photographs where he was seen dressed in a sophisticated black tuxedo. Accompanying the stylish pictures was a candid caption in Hindi that directly translated to, "I am ready for marriage, just need a girl." This straightforward declaration immediately went viral, drawing thousands of comments from fans and followers.
The post elicited a wave of responses. While a large section of his fanbase celebrated his positive outlook and wished him luck in finding a suitable partner, others were quick to remind him of his past relationship. Adding a layer of intrigue to the event, numerous fans tagged popular radio jockey RJ Mahvash in the comments, fueling existing speculation about a potential romance between the two.
Dating Rumours and RJ Mahvash's Cryptic Post
The connection between Yuzvendra Chahal and RJ Mahvash is not new. They have been the subject of dating rumours for some time, though both individuals have repeatedly denied being in a relationship. In a interesting turn of events, the day after Chahal's marriage-ready post, RJ Mahvash uploaded a new video on Instagram where she spoke at length about relationships, trust, and marriage.
In her clip, Mahvash made pointed remarks, stating she would never do an online "launch" before her wedding. She also urged women to inform her if her partner was ever "making romantic moves" in anyone's direct messages. "No, I don't trust anyone in this world," she emphasized, adding that "anyone is capable of anything" and encouraged girls to expose such behaviour to protect themselves.
Chahal has previously opened up about the difficulty of these rumours. On Raj Shamani's podcast, he expressed how tough it had been for Mahvash to face public judgment. "For the first time, when I was seen with someone, people started linking us right away. Even she clarified it, but it was very hard for her. She was called a homewrecker… people said really nasty things. I felt terrible," Chahal recalled.
Looking Forward After Divorce
Chahal's personal life has been under the scanner since his separation from Dhanashree Verma. The couple had tied the knot in 2020, but their marriage reportedly showed signs of strain by the third year. They began living separately in June 2022 and eventually filed for divorce by mutual consent in February 2025. The divorce was officially finalized on 20 March 2025 at the Bandra Family Court in Mumbai.
Speaking about the emotional toll and his willingness to love again, Chahal had shared, "It will take time to process. I need to gather myself. I'm not afraid to fall in love again, but I'm scared of losing the person because I get attached with all my heart." His latest Instagram post seems to be a significant step in that very process of gathering himself and opening up to new possibilities.
