Tragic Discovery at Kalavad Road Residence

In a heartbreaking incident that has shocked the community, Jeet Pabari, a 30-year-old businessman and the brother-in-law of renowned Indian cricketer Cheteshwar Pujara, was found dead at his residence near Kalavad Road in Rajkot on Wednesday. The young entrepreneur allegedly died by suicide at his home 'Krishna Sindhu,' leaving behind a trail of unanswered questions and a grieving family.

Disturbing Scene Unfolds

The tragedy came to light around 11 am on Wednesday when Pabari's wife made the grim discovery. According to police reports, while his wife and mother were engaged in household tasks on the ground floor, his wife went to the first floor and found him hanging from an iron hook on the window using a nylon rope. The family immediately rushed him to Wockhardt Hospital in an unconscious state, but doctors declared him dead upon arrival.

Police inspector JR Desai from Malaviya Nagar police station confirmed that initial investigations revealed no suicide note was found in the room. "We have not come across any suicide note inside the room. Further, his mobile phone has also not been traced yet," Desai stated, indicating the challenges in determining the exact circumstances leading to the extreme step.

Battle with Depression and Legal Troubles

Family members disclosed that Pabari, who ran a successful import-export business, had been battling depression for the past two months and was undergoing treatment and medication. The 30-year-old had been married for approximately one year and is survived by his wife and two sisters.

Compounding the tragedy, the incident occurred exactly one year after a rape complaint was filed against him by his former fiancée at the Malaviya Nagar police station on November 26, 2024. In that case, Pabari had secured anticipatory bail from the Gujarat High Court, and police had gathered evidence and filed a chargesheet, with the case currently pending before judicial authorities.

Police Investigation Underway

Following the hospital's report of a medico-legal case, the Malaviya Nagar police team conducted an initial investigation at his residence and registered a case of accidental death under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Samhita (BNS). Police officials are now in the process of recording statements from family members and examining call data records from his mobile number once it is recovered.

The investigation aims to piece together the final hours and days of the young businessman's life, with particular focus on his mental state and any potential triggers that might have led to this tragic outcome. The community remains in shock as they mourn the loss of a young life cut short under distressing circumstances.
