Diljit Dosanjh on 'Satluj' Removal: Everyone Has Downloaded It

Diljit Dosanjh has responded to the removal of his film Satluj from ZEE5 in India, stating that the movie has already reached its audience and cannot be erased. In a live session on Monday, he said, 'No worries now, everyone has downloaded it. Once a film is out, it can never be destroyed.'

Film Removed Two Days After Release

Satluj, directed by Honey Trehan, was released on ZEE5 on July 3 after a prolonged delay of over three years due to certification issues with the Central Board of Film Certification. However, on July 5, users found the film unavailable for streaming in India. ZEE5 issued a statement saying, 'Given the current circumstances, the film Satluj will remain unavailable in India until further notice. We are committed to exploring every appropriate avenue through the right processes to bring this film back to our audience as quickly as possible.' The platform did not specify the reason for removal.

Diljit's Reaction

During the live session, Diljit added, 'I was worried on the first day, but now it doesn't matter whenever they choose to re-release it. People have already watched and downloaded the film; now it can never be wiped out.' His remarks have gone viral on social media, with many interpreting them as a commentary on the permanence of digital content once it reaches viewers.

About the Film

Originally titled Punjab '95, the film is based on the life of human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra, who exposed alleged illegal killings and secret cremations during the militancy period in Punjab. The film faced certification hurdles for over three years before its eventual release. Despite the removal, Diljit's comments suggest that the film's message and content have already spread beyond the platform's control.
