Gulab Jamun Dispute at Kanpur Wedding Turns Violent

A seemingly minor dispute over the serving of sweets at a wedding ceremony in Kanpur escalated into a violent confrontation late Saturday night. The incident occurred in Pasi Kheda village under the Saadh police station area when some guests allegedly demanded extra gulab jamuns.

The Wedding Celebration Turns Chaotic

The wedding procession had arrived at Devi Prasad Kureel's house for his daughter's marriage. After the guests finished dinner, the host family sat down to eat. During the serving of sweets, a worker was instructed to give two gulab jamuns to each guest. However, Chhotu Kureel and his brother Rohit demanded four gulab jamuns each. When their request was denied, an argument broke out between the two sides.

Violence Erupts

The argument quickly turned violent as both groups allegedly attacked each other with sticks, clubs, and stones. What began as a minor disagreement transformed the wedding venue into a battlefield. One of the guests, Satyapal Kureel, sustained a serious head injury, while another youth was also injured in the attack. Though locals eventually managed to calm the situation, chaos prevailed at the wedding venue for some time.
