Himani Shivpuri Recalls DDLJ Memories, Shares Iconic Scene

Veteran actress Himani Shivpuri recently took a trip down memory lane, revisiting her iconic role in the blockbuster film 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge' (DDLJ). In a heartfelt social media post, she revealed that she could not help but smile when someone sent her a clip featuring one of her memorable scenes from the movie.

Nostalgic Moment Shared Online

Shivpuri shared the clip, which features her character alongside veteran actor Anupam Kher. The scene shows Kher's character, who plays Shah Rukh Khan's father Raj, flirting with Shivpuri's character, Kajol's paternal aunt. Expressing her emotions, Shivpuri wrote in her post: "Someone sent this clip to me, I thought I will share it with you. Pardon the audio, I think you must have also seen it a number of times, but watching it brought a smile on my face. It was my second film after HAHK, the freshness, the innocence... nostalgia."

DDLJ's Enduring Legacy

The film 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge' completed 30 years since its release last year. To commemorate this milestone, the lead pair, Kajol and Shah Rukh Khan, unveiled a bronze statue of their characters in London's Leicester Square. Reflecting on the film's success, Kajol remarked that during the shoot, they never imagined it would become a global phenomenon for Indians and South Asians.

Kajol further stated, "It's been 30 years, and we are happy to say it's the longest running film not only in India but in the world, and it's actually gone into the Guinness Book of World Records. So super kicked to be a part of it. I don't think we planned for DDLJ to become a global phenomenon for Indians and South Asians. I think somewhere down the line, DDLJ has become kind of a touchstone for Indians living abroad."

Shivpuri's post and the ongoing celebrations highlight the timeless appeal of DDLJ, which continues to resonate with audiences across generations.
