Chennai Murder-Suicide: Instagram Influencer Killed by Husband
A shocking incident has emerged from Chennai, where a 52-year-old man allegedly killed his wife before taking his own life. The tragic event occurred at their residence in Nanganallur. The victim, Nagalakshmi (42), was an Instagram influencer with over 3 lakh followers and also owned a saree business.
Family and Background
Nagalakshmi prioritized her children's education. Her elder son, Harish Bharadwaj (21), is studying medicine in Russia, while her younger son, Sailash (18), is pursuing dentistry in Chennai. Police said Subramanian had recently returned to Chennai and reconciled with Nagalakshmi after apologizing for his past behavior. The couple had been living together again shortly before the incident.
Incident Discovered on April 27
The incident came to light on April 27 when the couple's younger son returned home and found both parents dead. He discovered his mother hacked to death and his father hanging in another room. Authorities were alerted, and police reached the spot to begin initial procedures. The bodies were sent to Chengalpattu Government Hospital for post-mortem.
Couple Had Been Living Separately
According to police, the couple had been living apart for some time due to personal differences. During this period, Subramanian moved to Madurai to stay with a relative. Meanwhile, Nagalakshmi rebuilt her life, becoming financially independent. She launched a saree business in Nanganallur, which grew steadily with Instagram promotions, and later opened a larger store in Chennai.
Disturbing Message and Investigation
On April 27, Subramanian allegedly sent a disturbing message to Sailash, prompting him to rush home. Initial investigations suggest a heated argument may have led to the murder. Further investigation is ongoing.
