Actors Jasmin Bhasin and Aly Goni, who are currently living together, continue to face questions about their wedding plans. The couple chose to move in together to better understand each other before deciding on the next step in their relationship. Talking about it, she says, “We dated for a while, and for over a year now, we’ve been living together. We decided to take that step because it gave us the opportunity to truly understand each other and find our comfort zone. It’s important to be sure of the understanding, compatibility and chemistry you share.”
According to the actress, living together has strengthened their bond. “Touchwood, it has been going great. We are very happy, we understand each other better, our relationship is stronger than before and we’re enjoying the phase,” she says.
Career Shift from Television to Films
On the work front, Jasmin has consciously taken a step back from fiction TV shows after spending several years doing daily soaps. She says the break was necessary for her to explore other mediums. Ask her if it is tough to get projects after working in television and she replies, “Yes, it is a fact. Television is the most popular entertainment medium in our country and consumed every day. So, when I play a certain character, people watch it daily and get attached to it. If I suddenly shift and do some other character, it might be difficult for them to accept it immediately. So yes, it takes time for that strong character image and connection that you have built over the years to fade away, so that people can accept you in a new and fresh character. Sometimes people put it negatively that because we are from TV, we don’t get films, but I have been doing regional films and also been getting Hindi film offers. I’m simply waiting for the right project to come my way.”
