Veteran lyricist and screenwriter Javed Akhtar, celebrated for his razor-sharp wit and literary brilliance, recently shared a memorable moment with actor Aamir Khan at an event hosted by Boman Irani's scriptwriting initiative, Spiral Bound. The evening brought together several notable figures, including Anil Kapoor, Abhishek Bachchan, Ananya Panday, and Ishaan Khatter.
Aamir Khan's Question to Javed Akhtar
During the event, Aamir Khan posed a question to Javed Akhtar, asking how he has managed to stay relevant over a career spanning five decades. From the audience, Aamir addressed Javed on stage, saying, "I always enjoy listening to you, so I keep watching your videos on YouTube and even call you afterward. I have a question for you: you have been working in the industry for such a long time. You've worked with people of different generations, from those your own age when you began, to younger collaborators as you grew more senior, and now, in your eighties, with people in their twenties. How do you remain relevant across generations?"
Javed Akhtar's Witty Retort
Sharing the stage with Boman Irani, Javed responded in his signature humorous fashion before addressing the question seriously. "First of all, don't say 'eighties,'" he quipped. "Because even 87 falls in the eighties, and I'm only 80. The 's' you've added has had a very negative effect on my age." This witty remark sparked laughter in the room, with Aamir himself smiling and replying, "My apologies."
Work Updates on Aamir Khan
On the work front, Aamir Khan was last seen in 'Sitaare Zameen Par' and has recently revealed that a sequel to '3 Idiots' is currently in the writing phase.
