Kanpur: Justice JJ Munir, administrative judge of the Allahabad High Court, along with District Judge of Kanpur Nagar, Anmol Pal, unveiled the oil portrait of the late senior advocate JN Paras on Saturday. The ceremony took place at the Ram Awatar Mahana hall of the Kanpur Bar Association (KBA).
During the event, the foundation stone was also laid for a drinking water room and lavatory facility at the bar association premises. The initiative aims to improve basic amenities for advocates and visitors.
The occasion was attended by several judicial officials of Kanpur Nagar, along with office-bearers of the Kanpur Bar Association and the Lawyers' Association. A large number of advocates were also present to pay tribute to the late senior advocate.
Justice Munir, in his address, remembered the contributions of JN Paras to the legal fraternity and emphasized the importance of such facilities for the convenience of lawyers and litigants. District Judge Anmol Pal also spoke on the occasion, highlighting the need for better infrastructure in bar associations.
The unveiling of the portrait and the foundation laying ceremony were part of ongoing efforts to honor legal luminaries and enhance the working environment for legal professionals in Kanpur.
