Kalaburagi Hostel Party Video Dismissed as Old by Officials
A video showing students partying in a girls' hostel room went viral in Kalaburagi, sparking claims that it was from the undergraduate BCM girls' hostel at Kadaganchi in Aland taluk. However, District BCM Officer Veerappa dismissed the allegation, stating that the video was not linked to the Kadaganchi BCM hostel.
Veerappa explained that the hostel which previously operated in Kadaganchi village had been relocated to Aland town, where no such incidents have been reported. He said he has directed the taluka BCM officer to submit a detailed report so that appropriate action can be taken.
Further clarifying, Veerappa stated that the video was four years old and the students seen in it have since completed their graduation and are now settled in their lives. He alleged that certain individuals were attempting to blackmail an official using the old video and said the matter would be investigated.
The incident highlights concerns over the misuse of old footage to create false narratives. Authorities have urged the public to verify information before sharing such content on social media.
