Kanika Maheshwari's character Husna Aara in the show Seher Hone Ko Hai is receiving immense love from the audience. The actress shared that viewers enjoy watching Husna Aara because she is complex and emotional. She feels that portraying Husna Aara is challenging.
Preparing for the Role
Kanika spoke about how she prepares for her role. She says, "Husna Aara is a character that you can't just play and forget. She has a lot of anger, jealousy, hurt, and frustration inside her. To play her realistically, I have to feel those emotions when I act. The audience sees the scene, but they don't see what I go through to get to that point. Husna Aara's presence is very strong and intense. It stays with me even after the shoot is over."
Ritual to Let Go
Kanika shares that she has a method to detach from the character and not bring it home. She says, "As soon as I get home, I take a shower. It feels like I'm washing away Husna Aara's emotions. When I'm on set, I am Husna Aara. I dress like her, talk like her, and even think like her. By the end of the day, it feels like Husna Aara's emotions are around me. The shower helps me get rid of her darkness and be myself again."
Impact of Intense Roles
Kanika also opened up about how playing tough roles affects her. She says, "Every character has a feeling to it, but Husna Aara's is really heavy. She is driven by emotions that are not like mine. As actors, we have to go to emotional places like anger, bitterness, or pain. The hard part is not just feeling those emotions, but also knowing when to stop feeling them. That's really important."
Prioritizing Emotional Well-being
Kanika believes that taking care of her emotions is crucial for her well-being. She says, "People think acting is about looking good on screen and saying lines, but it's not. It takes a lot of effort. You have to get into the character's world every day. That's why I make time to relax and recharge after work. I believe I need to bring back positivity as strongly as I perform negativity. When I take a shower, I leave Husna Aara behind. Let Kanika come back. That's how I stay grounded and give my best to my work."
