KANPUR: Social media influencer Manasi was discovered dead under suspicious circumstances in Kanpur, with her family alleging that she was murdered due to dowry-related harassment and that the incident was later portrayed as a suicide.
Family Accuses Husband and In-Laws
The family has accused her husband, Sagar Rajput, and his relatives of torture and murder, asserting that Manasi was subjected to relentless harassment over dowry demands. A protest was organized in Kanpur on Monday, demanding justice for the deceased and strict action against the accused individuals.
Allegations of Abuse
Priyanka Verma, the elder sister of the deceased, stated that Manasi endured severe abuse related to dowry. She said, “There are stab marks on her legs. She was strangled; she was tortured over demands for dowry. We gave them everything they asked for. But they said they wanted a Fortuner and a Scorpio.”
