2026 brought multiple reasons for Kate Hudson to celebrate, including her Oscar nomination for 'Song Sung Blue.' The actress recently opened up about taking a step back to decompress after the award season frenzy.
Kate Hudson Takes a Break After the Oscar Buzz
Speaking to PEOPLE at the 'Running Point Season 2' premiere, the 47-year-old actress described the Oscar nomination excitement as 'so fun!' However, she also prioritized relaxation. 'I took spring break with my kids, and I just shut everything down,' she said.
Friendships Forged During the Oscars
Hudson formed meaningful connections with fellow nominees Rose Byrne, Renate Reinsve, Emma Stone, and Jessie Buckley. She expressed gratitude, stating, 'In reflection, I'm so lucky that I got to be able to have that experience. And I loved everybody on the ride with them.'
She also highlighted her bond with 'Running Point' executive producer Jeanie Buss. 'She was always someone who was very protective of me. She kind of put her arm around me and made sure I stayed out of trouble. But then to come back at this time in our life and have this experience together has been really, really wonderful and very, very cozy,' Hudson added.
About 'Song Sung Blue'
In 'Song Sung Blue,' Hudson plays Claire 'Thunder' Sardinia, a member of the Neil Diamond tribute band 'Lightning & Thunder.' Hugh Jackman co-stars as Mike 'Lightning' Sardinia. The film earned Hudson her first Best Actress Oscar nomination.
