The mother of late actress Kim Sae Ron has escalated her legal battle against actor Kim Soo Hyun and his legal team, releasing a powerful new statement that accuses the actor's lawyer of professional misconduct and ongoing harassment from fans.
Mother Confronts Kim Soo Hyun's Lawyer
In a statement released on November 27 through her legal representative, Kim Sae Ron's mother expressed deep frustration over the response to her initial statement from November 26. She claimed she received nothing but "mockery, sarcasm, and insults" following her first public communication.
The grieving mother specifically targeted attorney Go Sang Rok, who represents Kim Soo Hyun, alleging that he used social media platforms to attack her deceased daughter. According to her statement, the lawyer allegedly referred to Kim Sae Ron as "a crazy person suffering bipolar disorder" and "a mentally unstable person obsessed with men."
She further accused Go Sang Rok of making derogatory comments about the family's efforts to protect their daughter's memory, including remarks such as, "You're doing such a wonderful job of protecting the honour of the deceased" and "People who threw the honour of the deceased to the dogs."
Legal Actions and Police Investigation Update
The family has taken formal legal action against the attorney by filing complaints with both the Korean Bar Association and the Seoul District Association of Lawyers, requesting disciplinary measures against Go Sang Rok for his alleged unprofessional conduct.
Addressing the ongoing police investigation, Kim Sae Ron's mother provided crucial updates about the case timeline. She revealed that the family had already completed all required police questioning in July and had cooperated fully by submitting the late actress's phone and other electronic devices for forensic examination.
