Megan Thee Stallion Opens Up About Losing Her Parents
A few years ago, the three-time Grammy winner appeared on Taraji P. Henson's Facebook Watch series, Peace of Mind With Taraji, where she discussed feeling lost without her parents. She said, 'I've lost both of my parents. Now I'm like: Oh my gosh, who do I talk to? What do I do?'
The 'Something for Thee Hotties' artist added, 'I just started learning that it's okay to ask for help. It's okay to want to go get therapy...'
She continued, 'Because if my mom was here, she'd be in my ear like: What you doin'? You can do better than that. I always have to keep her words in the back of my head to keep me going.'
She added, 'I have more pressure on me than I feel like I used to have... when I was Megan, I wasn't as criticised and under such a magnifying glass as I am now.'
Megan Thee Stallion's History of Depression
Megan Thee Stallion, who is Thompson's ex-girlfriend, has been open about her depression. After losing her father in ninth grade, she was raised by her mother and grandmother. In 2019, her mother died after a battle with a brain tumor, leaving Megan without both parents before she turned 25.
She has been vocal about how this loss led to depression and difficult days in her life. Despite the challenges, Megan has broken records with her talent and is considered one of the most popular rappers in recent times.
