The accused, identified as Nishad, a native of Edava in Varkala, was posted at a KWA office in Kollam. According to police reports, Nishad had been persistently harassing the victim, a colleague, and forcing her to become more intimate with him. Despite her repeated refusals, he allegedly continued to intimidate and pressure her at the workplace.

Escalation to Physical Assault

The situation escalated when the woman did not yield to his demands, leading to a physical assault. Following this, the victim approached the police, prompting the authorities to take action.

Based on the complaint, the assistant commissioner of police forwarded the case to the Kollam east police, who registered a case and took Nishad into custody. After his arrest, he was produced before a court.
