The controversial reality show Lock Upp is set to return with a new season, and excitement around the show is steadily growing. The season will be hosted by Bollywood actor Riteish Deshmukh and choreographer-turned-filmmaker Farah Khan. The duo will be replacing Kangana Ranaut to host the second season. Lock Upp season 2 will see 14 celebrities participating in the show, and the makers are currently finalising contestants for the show.
While names of several celebrities are doing the rounds in the media, Times of India TV has exclusively learnt that popular television actor Dheeraj Dhoopar has been locked for the show. Dheeraj Dhoopar, who has been a part of popular daily soaps like Maat Pitaah Ke Charnon Mein Swarg, Sasural Simar Ka, Kundali Bhagya, Naagin and Sherdil Shergill, has been confirmed for Lock Upp season 2. The actor has given a nod to participate in the show. This is Dheeraj's first captive reality show.
Lock Upp season 2 will feature 14 contestants. For the uninitiated, Lock Upp will see 14 well-known personalities as ‘inmates’ inside a controlled, high-pressure jail. The contestants will have no contact from the outside world and will be stripped of their comforts. They will be subjected to increasingly challenging tasks. The inmates must navigate shifting alliances and difficult choices, where every move can flip the narrative overnight.
But this isn’t about inmates surviving the jail. It’s about perception, confession, and everything in between. The show gives inmates an opportunity to reveal the stories beyond their image. Because in Lock Upp: Sach ya Sazaa, truth isn’t just power — it’s a currency that can set you free.
Across six weeks, inmates will face daily tasks, status hierarchies, chargesheets, punishments, and terminations designed to continuously test resilience and pure survival instincts. As pressure builds, secrets spill, alliances shift, and nothing stays predictable for long. ‘Nobody will walk out the same’.
Speaking about hosting the show, Riteish shared, "What makes Lock Upp: Sach ya Sazaa engaging is that it’s a reflection of the times we live in, and that can be both fun and fascinating. Every contestant enters with their truth and a strategy, but inside Lock Upp: Sach ya Sazaa, everything gets tested. Farah and I will have a front-row seat to every twist, conflict, and revelation. One thing is certain: nobody walks out the same."
Farah Khan added, "Across my career, I’ve seen a lot, but Lock Upp: Sach ya Sazaa is a different beast. No filters, no retakes, just famous people attempting to reveal their true selves under real pressure."
The show will premiere from June 27, 2026.
