The complainant recounted how the harassment began when she approached the teacher a few months ago requesting extra time for assignment submission due to a medical emergency in her family. He granted the extension but then started calling her late at night while intoxicated, asking her to come to his cabin to submit the assignment. She rejected all advances. On another occasion, the assistant professor allegedly called her before her viva presentation, claiming he had “fixed” everything with the invigilator and asking her to meet him in his cabin. She refused again.

When the late-night calls persisted, the girl began recording them. A few days ago, the teacher allegedly called again and offered to leak two question papers if she agreed to meet him alone. This time, the girl made the recorded audio public and lodged a complaint with the proctor office. Subsequently, the university’s controller of examination filed an FIR against the assistant professor.
